Deborah R H Straw

Deborah Straw has been practicing in corporate and commercial law with an
emphasis on environmental law for over 10 years. She also holds a Masters
degree in Science with a specialty in cellular plant physiology.

Ms. Straw is an Associate of IEELS and provides her expertise in the area of
biotechnology and environmental law as a fellow lecturer at the University
of Calgary. Ms. Straw remains active in regulatory issues of agriculture and
plant based pharmaceuticals and her current interests include biotechnology
stewardship initiatives and standards of practice internationally. She is
also an executive member of the National Environmental Law Section of the
Canadian Bar Association and in that capacity provides information and
opportunity to ensure environment issues are inclusive of biotechnology.
